VFC & CUSC Tryouts Boys & Girls U15-U18

Joint tryouts for VFC & CUSC for U15-U18 boys & girls will take place on the CHS Turf in November 18 to 21.

VFC & CUSC we will be collaborating on tryouts for U15-U18 age groups.  With VFC currently has  boys teams in this age group and CUSC currently has girls teams in this age group.

Eric Pohl as the Director of Coaching for CUSC will functionally lead the tryouts with the specified coaches from VFC & CUSC for the teams.  As the Club Director for VFC Erik Hass will lead as the liaison to the high school coaches in communicating the tryouts and helping with the administration as much as possible while still running as two separate clubs (VFC Registration, CUSC Registration, etc.).

Check-in: starting 30 minutes prior to tryout time

Monday, Nov 18 & Wednesday, Nov 20  ~ Boys – VFC supported teams

• 5:00pm to 6:45pm U15/U16
• 7:15pm to 9:00pm U17/U18

Tuesday, Nov 19  & Thursday, Nov 21 ~  Girls – CUSC supported teams

• 5:00pm to 6:45pm U15/U16
• 7:15pm to 9:00pm U17/U18

Game Change for October

Due to the rainy weather, Thursday’s JV1 and Varsity games are moved to Friday:

• JV1 @ Chrystal Lake @ 4:00pm.
  
• Varsity @ CHS Turf @ 4:00pm. 
  
• JV2’s practice remains unchanged.

 

Bend Weekend 2013

Here are some notes about the Bend and Mt View games on Friday and Saturday:

• Both teams will depart on the school bus around lunch at 11:30am on Friday, Sept 13.
• Both teams will be staying overnight at Mountain View High School in their mat room. Players will be able to use the school’s showers.
• Players will need to bring $20 for dinner, breakfast, and lunch, which will be coordinated by Jodie LaFevre.
• Parents will need to sign permission forms and players will hand them to Jodie at practice on Thursday, Sept 12.
• Teams will arrive back at CHS around 4:00pm Saturday.

Players, please bring:

• Signed permission form (if you forgot it earlier)
• Lunch and snack for bus ride
• Sleeping Bag/Pillow (Bring to practice Thursday so Jodie can add them to her truck.)
• Toiletries/Towel
• Uniforms/Cleats/shin guards, etc.
• Water Bottle
• Spare Clothes

Practice Schedule

Teams practice at Crystal Lake Soccer Fields (CL) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5:00pm to 7:30pm on August 26, 27, 29, and 30 (unless otherwise noted).

Once school starts on Sept 3, an activity bus will take players to  CL at 3:30ish. Practice is then from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The activity bus will return students to CHS or you can pick them up at CL.

Periodically, practice will be on Taylor Field or the CHS Turf Field. Watch for email messages about these changes.

The first game is Tuesday, Sept 3.

4:30pm – 6:30pm JV Girls Soccer vs Willamette @ Crystal Lake field
Bus departs @ 3 pm (1 way)

6:30pm – 8:30pm V Girls Soccer vs Willamette @ CHS Taylor Field

August 28 activities for Spartan Girls Soccer include:

4:00pm Pictures of JV1, JV2, and Varsity teams on the CHS Turf field. Please arrive on time! There is in lieu of practice.

• Bring the Button Buddy form filled in (attached).
• Fill in the Hise Studio from at the field.

4:30pm Coaches distribute uniforms and socks to all teams.

4:30pm Varsity captain-led run.

5:30pm Athletic Booster Club BBQ Fundraiser for all fall sports. The cost for a meal is $5.00 and is a great way to support CHS athletics. Ends at 7:30.

Philomath Jamboree August 30

Philomath’s soccer jamboree will start at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 30. Teams include: Philomath, Corvallis, and Junction City.

1. Each contest will be for 30 minutes (two 15-minute halves with a 5-minute half time) and then a 25 minute break before the next match.
2. Locker rooms are NOT available; come dressed to play.
3. Restrooms are located across the track.
4. Bring light AND dark jerseys.
